Dan Spiropoulos has always had a fascination with history and combat since a young age. Though it wasn’t until high school that Dan got introduced to the world of Theatre. Upon entering college Dan decided to audition for Romeo and Juliet just for fun, but after meeting a Fight Director named Jake Guinn, Dan got hooked. Since then Dan has never looked back. He graduated with a BFA in Theatre from Southern Arkansas University in 2018 with an emphasis on Lighting Design and Technical Direction. Dan would later spend a year at Louisiana Tech University’s Graduate School continuing to learn about Stage Combat and Fight Direction. In the Fall pf 2019, Dan would find himself as a high school tech theatre teacher in Dallas, Texas. While in Dallas, Dan got to work with many different theatre artists and teachers in the city, but was ultimately given the advice, “If you’re going to go back to Grad school, do something you do not know to much about.” With this advice Dan settled on Directing, and was accepted to the University of South Dakota where he is expected to graduate with an MFA in Directing, May of 2025.
Dan Spiropoulos is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors and an Actor Combatant with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. It is through the connections made within these two organizations that allowed Dan to continually pursue Stage Combat and Fight Direction. It is also because of the support from people within these two organizations that Dan was able to start Ronin Theatricals, LLC.
